Wow! It was a hot one today. I went to the garden thinking I was going to be alone but Denver Kids showed up to help me. They cleaned up our watermelon garden and pathways, then they contributed to the compost bin. Oops! Now that I think about it I forgot to close the lid and water it, oh well guess I'll do it tomarrow. I'm so glad I was out there to give all the plants a drink of water. I know how I feel after being there all day. Thank you so much Denver Kids for helping me today.
It's so peaceful to be at the garden. When I'm there alone all the critters come to visit me. I watch the birds take their baths from the sprinklers, it's so cute. Even though the garden is in the heart of the city, the city noise around gets drowned out by the beauty of the garden. As I water the garden my Troy always pays me a visit as well as Jeremy. They both always let me know their there as they flutter around the garden. Troy is my Yellow Swallowtail butterfly and Jeremy is a white one. Gardening is such hard work but so rewarding. I'm so greatful that the garden has so far been protected from the hail and the storms that have been hitting us this year.
