IN LOVING MEMORY
James Chavez -President
James Chavez was one of the founders of the Troy Chavez Foundation. He was also the father of Troy Chavez. James dedicated his life to provide alternatives for youth as well volunteered in the garden for 26 years. He worked hard, so his wife Ana Chavez de Quintana was able to volunteer and be at the garden full time. Losing Teddy (as most called him) was a devastating loss to his family, friends & community. He will always be remembered for his kind heart, his corny jokes but most of all his love and care for his family and community. Rest in peace, our Teddy Bear.
This page is dedicated to victims of violence. Those who ended their lives will have the opportunity to correct the wrong they've done, while all these children's lives are over. Never to be again, except in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. The Troy Chavez Foundation will never forget them. We will continue to work with young people and try to redirect them because, this is the promise that Troy made. Troy truly was the type of person to protect his friends and never betray them, even though he was betrayed, we will follow the vision he had and the hope he had. Troy had compassion and honor and this was his dream to come back in his community and make a difference. When our children are stolen from us we will never know what they could have done for us as a society. From 1992 to 1994 there were 108 young victims of violence and although all the names are not on this page, we pray for them just same and will always fight to save our children and change things for them.
